Joel Williams a long time Chapter Member, current Board Member and Young Eagle Pilot will be giving a presentation on his trip to Sun N Fun.

Aug 2 General Meeting - new Date !

EAA Chapter 62 August General Meeting will be held on Friday August 2, 2019.

The meeting will be held at Mark Wainwright's home in Los Gatos. The address is

32 Peralta Ave. Los Gatos, Ca 95030

The meeting will start at 6:30pm with a BBQ and hangar flying. Afterwards we will take care of some chapter business followed by our guest speakers John Gould and Herb Spenner.

John will be giving a presentation on a METAR MAP which will eventually be available to pilots in the Reid Hillview Airport Terminal in San Jose , Ca.

Herb Spenner will be giving us an update on the aeronautics Program at Gavilan College. Should be a good meeting.

Sep 5 NO General Meeting

There will be NO general meeting in September. Instead, please join us for the fly-out to Salinas on 9/14 to visit Pacific Airmotive.

Oct 3 General Meeting

Terminal Building at Reid Hillview Airport.

Hot Dog dinner at 6:30pm followed by the meeting at 7:30pm.

Our Chapter President, Owen Leipelt, will be giving a talk about his flight to Russia with Matt Guthmiller and possibly some info on the formation flight with his friend David Lesh who ditched his Bonanza into the ocean off Half Moon Bay.

Nov 7 General Meeting

Reid-Hillview airport terminal. Hot Dog dinner at 6:30pm followed by the meeting at 7:30pm. meeting will start with Election of Officers and Board Members followed by our Guest Speaker Jan Johnson. Jan will be giving a presentation on her trip to Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.

Graham Ritz, SJC Airport Operations Supervisor and Private Pilot, will tell what it takes to manage one of the fastest growing airports in the country and how working at an airport helps make him a better pilot. Should be a good presentation.

Jun 4 General Meeting - Virtual Meeting

EAA 62 will be holding our June General Meeting on Zoom. Our speaker will be Jerod Flohr. Jerod was our Guest of Honor and Speaker at our Christmas/Holiday Dinner. Jerod will be speaking from his perspective about how the coronavirus has affected the airshow and airline industries. He will also tell us what it takes to keep Skyhawk 518 in the air. Hope you can join us.

Our guest speaker will be Lonny McClung. Lonny was a career Naval Aviator, 1962 to 1992, and has been involved in aviation ever since.

We will have information on our 1st Young Eagle event for 2022 which is scheduled for April 16 at RHV.

Our speaker will be EAA62 Member and Director John Castner. John will be talking about his time in the U,S. Air Force flying the Lockheed C-130 Hercules.
