South County Airport EAA Chapter 110 Hangar (J32) Location:

J32 is at the end of Row J in the new County Hangars that are located at the south end of the field. If driving, enter through the County gate across from the WOH Museum and take the gravel road to J32.

Poker Run Rules:

  1. A minimum of two cards will be necessary to play
  2. Each participating pilot will pick up a playing card at a minimum of two of the three local airports:
    1. Watsonville WVI
    2. Hollister CVH
    3. South County E16
  3. Cards will be located in marked boxes at the Fuel Station at WVI and CVH and at hangar J32 at E16. Each card will be in a marked envelope. DO NOT open the envelopes
  4. If you pick up more than two cards then you play your best two cards.
  5. It is OK to pick up one card at your home airport and a second at E16, but three cards will increase your chances to win.
  6. The game will be a modified form of Texas Hold'em where the players combine their cards with five community cards to form the best hand.
  7. Prizes will be awarded for the best hand in the Ultralight and LSA categories. (non-ultralight or LSA pilots are welcome to play but there are no prizes for non ultralight or LSA aircraft)
  8. Start Time will be 8:30 am - that is when the cards will be available
  9. Finish Time will be 11:30 pm - that is when the game will be played
  10. If you cannot stay for the game (for weather reasons, etc.) you can mark your envelopes with your contact information, leave the envelopes with the game "dealer" and your cards will be played for you. You will be notified if you win.
  11. In the event of a tie then the winner will be determined by a coin flip.

General Ultralight Operation Rules:

  1. Ultralights may use only designated runways for takeoffs and landings (see www.aerodromehq.com)
  2. Pattern altitude shall be 500 ft. AGL
  3. No flight in the air traffic area below pattern altitude except for takeoff and landing
  4. No turns below 200 ft AGL.
  5. No turns before designated ultralight pattern
  6. Ultralights shall use radios to announce intentions.
  7. All ultralights will fly the traffic pattern for the runway in use as determined by wind direction.
  8. Pilots must be familiar with traffic maps, flight protocols, and radio frequencies for each airport (www.airnav.com/airport)
  9. No straight in approaches.
  10. Ultralights on base leg shall give way to other aircraft and gliders on final.
  11. Ultralights shall avoid any designated parachute drop zone.
  12. No first time ultralight flyers. An instructor must accompany a person who is not experienced in ultralight operation unless they have achieved solo status. Persons with private pilot rating or higher are exempt from this requirement.
  13. No formation flying.
  14. Ultralight pilots are to use common sense in the traffic pattern (i.e. be alert for aircraft preparing to enter the active runway and give way).
  15. All standard FAA rules of right of way shall be observed.
