Each Month  Monthly Meeting
 Usually the first Thursday of every month. Due to OSH, the August meeting is usually delayed to 2nd Thur. Check this calendar or the EAA62 newsletter for details.

The offical part of the meeting starts 7:30pm in the Victory Aero hangar, hangar-flying and hot dogs from 6:30-7:30pm. Be sure to check the events calendar for changes.


Sep 11  Palo Alto Airport Day
 
The Airport Day start at 9am and closes at 4pm. Lots of things to see and do including tower tours and static aircraft displays.

There will be Young Eagle flights at the Palo Alto Airport Day.

Sep 12  California Capital Airshow at Mather Airport (Not a Fly-In)
 Airshow starts on September 11

What time does the airport close to non-airshow air traffic?

Mather Airport will close to air traffic at 7 a.m. on the Friday preceding the show and remain closed until Sunday evening

May I fly into the Airshow?

Due to allocation of ramp space to Airshow performers, static displays and guest parking, Mather Airport is unable to accommodate transient aircraft. It is recommended for pilots to fly into McClellan Airport or Sacramento Executive Airport. There are a variety of private transportation options available; check with the FBO. Lions Gate Hotel at McClellan has a fly-in package for overnight guests, which includes tickets and transportation to the Airshow.

Sep 24 - Sep 26  Chico Air Show
 Night show on Friday, Air Show on Saturday and Sunday. The Snowbirds are supposed to be there. KCIC is 148nm from RHV. For details check out http://www.chicoairshow.org.


Sep 25  Chapter Picnic, Potluck
 
This year's picnic will be at Don Von Raesfeld's home at
930 Monroe St.

Oct 1  October 1 - Fly-In with a BIG Difference !!!
 
Enter a lottery for Edwards Air Force Base Fly-in !!

Edwards Air Force Base in California will host a general aviation fly-in for the first time on Oct. 1. Pilots can enter a lottery for the fly-in, which is limited to 100 pilots. General aviation pilots will have the chance to land on the 21-square-mile Rosamond Dry Lake, a hotbed of aviation research for more than 50 years.

F.L.A.G. is owned by Kitplanes Contributing Editor, Rick Lindstrom. The Corvair Authority, William Wynne will be in attendance.

Corvair cores will be available to purchase, to start building your own flight Corvair engine.

There will be a nominal charge to cover the cost of feeding and watering you for three days, that fee is halved for any helpers you bring along. Fee TBD

Oct 23  Young Eagles at South County
 
The final Young Eagle event of the season will be at South County airport from 10am to 2pm.
